How I got into TTRPG and where it led me!

With nearly four decades of experience in the world of tabletop role-playing games. My passion for TTRPGs began at the age of 13 when I was introduced to Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by WestEnd Games, a campaign run by my friend Scott. Around the same time, I explored the realms of fantasy through multiple Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st Edition campaigns, each guided by a variety of Game Masters who brought unique styles and perspectives to the table.

By the time I turned 16, I took on the role of Game Master myself, launching my first long-term campaign with Shadowrun 1st Edition. What began as a foray into the neon-lit streets and corporate intrigue of the Sixth World quickly became a cornerstone of my TTRPG experience. That campaign ran for decades, providing countless hours of immersive storytelling, character development, and collaborative world-building.

About four years ago, my wife encouraged me by saying, ‘You’re good enough to be paid for being a GM.’ At the time, I was struggling with imposter syndrome and brushed the idea aside. However, the thought lingered. Over time, I began researching the idea of professional Game Mastering and eventually discovered StartPlaying.Games, a platform that supports paid GMs. This discovery marked the beginning of a new chapter in my journey, transforming a lifelong passion into a professional pursuit.

Since then, my love for the hobby has only grown, driving me to create original settings, develop custom mechanics, and craft engaging narratives that challenge and inspire players. The joy of weaving compelling stories, watching characters evolve, and fostering shared experiences around the table remains a core part of who I am as both a Game Master and a creative professional.”
